Overview
The Arkansas Bioinformatics Society (ARBIOS) is the Central Arkanas Chapter of MCBIOS, whose mission is to foster networking and collaboration in the area of bioinformatics and promote the professional development of its members, especially its student members. The ARBIOS was formed as a regional bioinformatics society in September 2002 by Dr. Steve Jennings1, Dr. Bill Slikker2 , Dr. Xiaowei Xu3, and Roger Hall4. The society is currently headed by Vinay Ravindrakumar5 (Chair) and Pierre Alusta6 (Vice-chair). ARBIOS's agenda for the 2006-2007 year includes exciting events like bioinformatics networking meetings, social meetings, a fall picnic, a regional symposium and outreach programs.
